Answer #1: A pear tree is classified as an Angiosperms becuase the seeds are hidden and not visiable from the outside. 

 

Answer #2: The tree is a monocot because the number of peddles on each flower is six which is a multiple of three. 

 

Answer #3: Both tracheids and vessel elements are part of xylem tissue. They are both nonliving hollow cells (tube shaped) that transport water in plants. They are different because vessel elements only appear in angiosperms while tracheids appear in both angiosperms and gymnosperms.  

 

Answer #4: Phloem is able to move its contents in any direction, but xylem is only able to have its contents move from root to leaf. Xylem can only carry water, but phloem can carry water and nutrients.  

 

Answer #5: Water and gases.
